Assessment and Recovery of Troubled Projects

The goal of this course is to offer a methodology and tools for assessing and recovering troubled projects. In this course you will first learn the key characteristics of successful vs. failed projects. You will gain an understanding of rational criteria to be applied in deciding whether a troubled project should be terminated or resuscitated. You will be introduced to a three-phase methodology for rapidly assessing and recovering troubled projects. You will learn key processes and tools associated with each phase. The course is based on standard PMI project management processes, tools, and techniques. It assumes that you are familiar with the basic project management concepts and tools and PMI’s A Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide), 7th edition.
