This course gives students the foundation to create effective, accurate tables, graphs, and figures. Students will learn the general structure of tables, graphs, and figures, how to choose among a table, graph, and figure, guidelines for determining what graphing format to use, and common problems with the visual presentation of data.

- Distinguish when to use tables versus figures or graphs for data presentation
- Identify the main components of tables and figures
- Describe the different types of graphs and their appropriate use
- Design and edit tables and graphs to effectively represent data
